Beginning in 1931, forty locomotives of the type De Glehn were delivered to the Compagnie du Nord. The manufacturer of this beautiful pacific loco was Cail. In 1936, some of these machines were equipped with streamlined outer sheet metal in keeping with the trend of the time.
We made the 231 C in chocolate-brown paint and in the green paint of the SNCF. We built the streamlined version colored brown with a white ornamental stripe and in a special blue version with the Union Jack and the Tricolore. The prototype for the latter version was the locomotive that was especially painted for the visit of the King of England in France. This special painted loco drove the King's train from Calais to Paris.
This series was ordered by Fulgurex.
